We are the Blackbushe Heritage Trust, and our Charity has a mission to open an Aviation Museum at Blackbushe Airport. We hope to encourage people to understand the history of Blackbushe from its early Wartime days to becoming the second busiest commercial airport to Heathrow until Gatwick was opened in the 1960’s.
Central to this mission is to renovate a 1940s Viking aircraft called Vagabond. There are only 6 left in the World of this most important British aircraft and we were fortunately able to retrieve ours from Austria early this year thanks to various donations from local companies. You may have seen this take place on the BBC and recently ITV.
Naturally we need to raise funds to continue this important work. We want to trace people that have had early experiences of Blackbushe and record their history. We are also looking for more volunteers to help with our community project.
