Princes Mead and Paperstarlights have formed an exciting partnership to bring Love and Light to you this Christmas. Working together we will be creating a special community hub within Princes Mead Shopping Centre, decorated and sponsored by Paperstarlights. This cosy space will be home to a variety of community activities over the festive season and will also host centre events designed to delight our customers and youngsters – from Christmas Decoration workshops to our Kids Club Christmas Disco and our Service to Remember in support of our local hospice, Phyllis Tuckwell.
Our customers are invited to gather in this festive space beneath the warm glow of starlight, a magical place filled with light and colour, decorated with beautiful star lanterns, hand-made from natural materials.
Since 1996, Paperstarlights have been creating their own brand of Love and Light in partnership with a small family business in Western India. Their eye-catching displays of brightly coloured star lanterns have become a festive feature at Christmas events around the country – and we are excited to be working with them to create something unique for us at Princes Mead for the first time.
Paperstarlights are a fairtrade company and are proud to have created a business that respects everyone involved – from source of production to point of sale – from shopfloor to shopping centre. Each handcrafted star lantern is designed and screen-printed by artists, using traditional techniques, two generations of skill and experience – and a lot of love.
Not only that – Paperstarlights love the environment and the spaces they work in – and want to create Love and Light without a dependence on environmentally damaging materials and manufacturing processes. So, they use responsibly sourced natural materials to create sustainable displays and reduce environmental impact. Everyone loves their paper stars – they capture the essence of the festive season and can be re-used year after year.
We are delighted to bring this exciting space to you, our Customers, for you to experience by attending one of our events, workshops, performances or just to visit and walk around to feel the light, love and warmth that this space and decoration will create. Paperstarlights will also be decorating the south west tower – so lookout for a special welcome as you come to Princes Mead this Christmas season.
